To Bulk Or Not To Bulk – Mail,
That Is…
Shakespearian allusions aside, just as the title “Doctor” has
given way to “Primary Care Physician,” “Bulk
Mail” has become “Presort Standard Mail.” Well
la-de-dah!
The new term may not exactly trip off the tongue, but whatever
you call it, beware of being seduced by its low cost. Don’t
mistake me, it has its place when you need to communicate with
a large audience and want to constrain cost.
But you need not engage in a Shakespearian soliloquy in answering
the “To bulk or not to bulk mail” question for yourself.
Just be sure to limit its use to:
- Newsletters
- Save the date messages
- Next month’s sales
- General information (catalogs, instructions,
line cards)
- Consumer mailings
To optimize delivery, bulk mailings must be bar coded and carrier
route indexed. CITYMAIL will do both to help save time and money.
Almost 60% of the mail we “drop” (deliver to a central
post office) these days falls into the “standard presort” category.
There will always be a time and place for it, but it's not always
the best way to mail.
Unsure of the best methods and rate for your next drop? Call
or e-mail CITYMAIL. We’ll help you stop talking to yourself!
